A Message From WVFL President,
Dear Pro-Life friend,
We at West Virginians for Life wish you a happy New Year. We hope that
you had a blessed Christmas with friends and family. This is the time
for New Year’s resolutions, a time to look ahead and anticipate future
challenges. Unfortunately, Americans don’t have the kind of hope right
now that we used to have in the past. We are told that polls show that
Americans worry about the future; that they fear that their children
won’t be better off than they are.
West Virginians for Life believes that we are experiencing a moral
failing. Our American value system rests on a belief in the dignity of
each human person, as enunciated in the Bill of Rights. Abortion and
euthanasia strike at the foundation of this fundamental value system.
America can never be truly free until we end the culture of death by
overturning the Supreme Court decisions that have grotesquely made
abortion into a “constitutional” right. Until the Court’s horrendous
error is corrected, West Virginians for Life will continue to work by
any means morally possible to save lives in our great state. You
make this work possible, and I deeply appreciate the support you give us
to save lives. |

The WV state legislative session has begun and West Virginians for Life
is planning to introduce new legislation during this session. The public
discussions about our new legislative initiative, the Pain-Capable
Unborn Child Protection Act, will help educate everyone about the
humanity of the unborn baby, because science now demonstrates that
unborn babies feel pain. The bill will ban abortions after the baby can
feel pain, at 20 weeks. Research shows that mothers hesitate to have
abortions if they fear their babies will suffer, so we know that this
legislation will save lives. You can download and print our brochures on
fetal pain from our website at www.wvforlife.org.
Please, distribute this brochure.
We will be having a Rally in Charleston in
support of our legislation on Tuesday, February 14, from 10 am to 2 pm. We
encourage you to come and “Have a Heart for the Babies” on Valentine’s Day. Join
us for speakers, music, prayer and inspiration. You will be able to meet with
your legislators, be introduced as a group in the House Gallery, and join the
silent prayer processional through the Capitol Building. In addition, we
encourage you to continue the prayer processional after the Rally in front of
the abortion facility in Charleston. Information on this prayerful demonstration
of support for the unborn will be available at the Rally.
Sincerely, for life,
Wanda Franz, Ph.D.
