to Speak at WVFL Convention

 
               
State Supreme Court Justice Elliott E. "Spike" Maynard will discuss the Roe v. Wade decision. Maynard, a lifelong WV resident and Air Force veteran, received his J.D. from WVU.  He was twice elected Prosecuting Attorney of Mingo County and twice elected judge of Thirtieth Judicial Circuit.  In 1996, he was elected to the West Virginia Supreme Court.  He served as chief justice in 2000 and 2004.
 
Shari Richard is an Obstetrical Ultrasound Expert and Educator whose medical experience spans 30 years. She is the founder of Sound Wave Images through which she produced the video, Ultrasound: "Eyewitness To The Earliest Days Of Life."  Her ultrasound footage has educated millions on fetal development, as over 100,000 copies have been distributed  worldwide and viewed on commercial ads and in numerous television shows.
 
Wanda Franz, Ph.D., is the President of the National Right to Life Committee and a developmental psychologist and professor emerita of child development  at WVU.  She has published numerous articles on post-abortion syndrome and adolescents and abortion, and has spoken on abortion across the U.S. and around the world.
 
Karen Cross is the Political Director for the National Right to Life Committee.  Cross, who previously served as the Executive Director of West Virginians for Life, became involved in the pro-life movement as a result of her own two abortions. She has been featured on the 700 Club, in USA Today and various radio and TV programs.  Cross will be speaking on the 2008 election and what we can do to impact it.
